Science Behind Pro-Uro
®
Pro-Uro helps in:
®
Vaginal Bacterial Infection (Bacterial Vaginosis)
Vaginal Yeast Infection
(Yeast Vaginitis/ Vulvovaginal Candidiasis)
Urinary Tract Infection
(UTI)
Vaginal Bacterial Infection
(Bacterial Vaginosis)
Thin, watery, white/grey discharge
No fishy odour
Itch & irritation
Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) is a condition that results from the overgrowth of bad bacteria in the vagina, which changes the normal balance of vaginal microflora & the acidity (pH).
It is the most common vaginal condition in women aged
15-44 years old.
When symptoms are present, Bacterial Vaginosis is characterised by an unpleasant fishy odour.
When GR-1 & RC-14 in Pro-Uro is given to patients with Bacterial Vaginosis, 2.2 times more patients had reduced symptoms & was able to achieve a healthier, more balanced vaginal microflora.

Vaginal Yeast Infection
(Yeast Vaginitis/ Vulvovaginal Candidiasis)
Itch & irritation
No fishy odour
Thick white discharge
(cottage cheese)
Vulvovaginal Candidiasis (VVC) is the 2nd most common vaginal condition in females, after Bacterial Vaginosis.
It is more commonly found in women aged 15-44 years old. Stress, antibiotics & oral contraceptives use, pregnancy and diabetes are also risk factors of VVC.
VVC is characterized by itchiness, burning, soreness & irritation of the external parts of the female genitals. These symptoms may be accompanied by burning sensation when urinating or during sexual intercourse.
In clinical studies, it is shown that GR-1 & RC-14 in Pro-Uro can lead to a higher cure of VVC & a reduction of symptoms associated with yeast infection.

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)
Painful urination
Increased frequency & urgency
Blood may be present in urine
Urinary tract infection (UTI) could occur when harmful bacteria enter into the urinary tract via the urethra.
Menopause, being sexually active, pregnancy and the use of birth controls can increase the risk of UTI.
In a study on the efficacy of Lactobacillus probiotics in UTI, it was found that not all Lactobacillus are efficient in preventing UTI. The study found that GR-1 & RC-14 in Pro-Uro is most helpful in urogenital applications.

®
Thus, GR-1 & RC-14 is the most effective probiotic combination in female urogenital health

®
How does GR-1 & RC-14 in Pro-Uro work?
®
®
1. Migration
2. Competition
3. Defence
After oral consumption of Pro-Uro , GR-1 & RC-14 migrate to the vagina and urinary tract where they colonise and adhere to the vaginal and urethral walls.
®
®
®
GR-1 & RC-14 compete with harmful bacteria for nutrients and space, hence displacing them from binding sites and promoting healthy bacterial flora.
®
®
GR-1 & RC-14 enhance immune defence by producing antimicrobial agents that kill and prevent the growth of harmful pathogens for optimal vaginal and urinary health
